Looking to play in a league this Spring?  Have a team of players looking to play or an individual player looking for a team?  Register for our 2022 Spring Outdoor League.  It is an extremely fun, exciting, entertaining atmosphere.  All games played at one location.  Each court supplied with Shaded Team Benches, Score Tables, Padded Poles, and officials.  Limited number of team and player spots available.  Register today before all spots are filled.

How It Works

FOR BOYS & GIRLS 3RD - 12TH GRADE

Register as a team

Already have a group of players?  Register as a pre-form team.
Have your coach, team parent, or captain create the team first.  Then all players register to the team created.  If you don't have a minimum of 7 players, let us know.  We will have free agents to help fill rosters (NO TRYOUTS).

Register as an Individual

Not on a team?  Register as a free agent for a chance to be placed onto a team.  Free agents are placed onto teams in need of players or if coaches or parents become available to coach, we can create free agent teams.

You will be notified via email if you were placed onto a team.  For players not placed onto teams, we will have a 3v3 outdoor league as well.  For 3v3, Players are placed onto teams of 3-6 players.  They play 3 30min games each game day on a half court.  3v3 is a fun, fast paced, style of play that also became an Olympic sport.

Schedule is released

Once registration closes and all teams have been formed, the schedule will be released by the last Wednesday before the 1st game.  Everyone registered will be notified via email when the schedule is available.  All games will be played at 1 location.

Season begins

Games begin.  Games primarily are played Sundays but there may be some weeks when games are on Saturday.  Teams may also have double headers on 1 day depending on the number of teams in a division and number of games in the season.

Post Season

The last weekend of the season is tournament time.  All teams qualify for the post season tournament.  Depending on number of team within a division, we try to break up a division to create more competitive games by matching the top teams vs top teams, middle vs middle, and bottom vs bottom (If enough teams to do so).

OUTDOOR LEAGUE FEATURES

  • NO CHAPTERS | OPEN BOUNDARIES

    Players / Teams register with the SVNJB Section and not their local chapter. Anyone from anywhere can register.


    There are no registration boundary restrictions for Spring League. Players from any chapter or location can register to play. Registration is done through the section, Silicon Valley NJB, not the local chapters. NJB Chapters are not active outside of Winter League.

  • NON-TRADITIONAL POST SEASON FORMAT

    MATCH TOP TEAMS vs TOP TEAMS

    MIDDLE TEAMS vs MIDDLE TEAMS

    BOTTOM TEAMS vs BOTTOM TEAMS


    The post season isn't like traditional playoff formats. SVNJB attempts to group evenly matched teams in the post season. Meaning we match top teams vs. top teams and bottom teams vs. bottom teams so each team has a chance to win.

  • PRE-FORM TEAM LEAGUE

    This league is designated for pre-existing teams.   Individuals or Free Agents not already on a team, will be placed onto a waitlist.  Free Agents will be placed onto teams that have open spots. There is no guarantee free agents will be placed onto teams. 


    Free Agents will only pay the registration fee if placed onto a team.

  • FREE AGENT WAITLIST

    This outdoor league is designated for whole teams.   Individuals or Free Agents not already on a team, will be placed onto a waitlist.  Free Agents will be placed onto teams that have open spots or if coaches become available. There is no guarantee free agents will be placed onto teams. 


    Free Agents will only pay the registration fee if placed onto a team.


    For those free agent players not placed onto teams,  we will have an outdoor 3v3 league starting 3/26. 

  • 3V3 LEAGUE

    For all players not placed onto teams there will be a 3v3 league  starting 3/26.  Teams of 3-6 players are formed.  Each team plays 3 20 minute half court games over a 90-120min period. 


    3v3 is a fun fast paced, half court league that has also become an Olympic sport.  For an overview of this format please read the slides linked below.

How It Works for Rookies

BOYS & GIRLS (AGE 6-9) K - 3RD GRADE
*3RD GRADERS NEW TO BASKETBALL CAN JOIN THE ROOKIE LEAGUE

REGISTER YOUR K-3RD ROOKIE

Register your K-3rd (Age 6-9) player for the rookie league.   The rookie league is a developmental program focused more on teaching players basketball fundamentals, rules, and skills to improve as a basketball player.

GROUPS ARE FORMED

Once registration closes, Rookie players will be split into groups and assigned their schedule for the season.  Players will remain with their group for the duration of the season.



ROOKIE LEAGUE BEGINS

Players will go to their assigned session to learn drills, games, and exercises that will help develop them into better basketball players.  Towards the end of sessions players will participate in structured scrimmages.

OUTDOOR LEAGUE POLICIES

Uniforms will be ordered for teams that need them and register before registration deadline. Teams that have uniforms must have home & away tops with numbers on front and back to be acceptable.

To participate in the league all Health & Safety protocols established by the league, state, county, and schools must be followed.  Participants, parents, and others that do not will be removed from event and/or program completely.
