WHY PLAY STARS?

The SVNJB Stars program is designed for the top skilled players in the Silicon Valley / South Bay Area of California.  The goal of the Stars Basketball program is to develop players through the use of team and individual instruction.  In the end, our mission is to help each player grow not only as a player but also as a person through the game of basketball.

SV STARS HISTORY

The Silicon Valley Stars Basketball program is an expansion of the NJB Stars program which originated in Southern California.  The Silicon Valley Stars (SV Stars) began in 2005 to provide an opportunity for the top Winter NJB All-Net and other skilled players to play at a more competitive level.  Each season we strive to offer competitive club teams for Boys (10 - 15 years old) and Girls (11 - 14 years old).

  • How do I register for tryouts?

    Go to the Stars Tryout page for information on when and where the upcoming tryouts will be held.  To tryout, there is a one time fee of $30.  Once paid and registered, your player can attend all of the scheduled tryouts for their age/grade group.

  • Who can tryout for the Stars?

    The Silicon Valley Stars usually form teams for Boys 4th - 8th grade and Girls 5th - 8th grade.


    All players are welcomed to tryout for the team.

  • Should I attend all of the tryouts?

    It is not required that players attend all tryout but recommended.

  • What to do if I can't make a tryout?

    If you have a schedule conflict, please email us and let us know.  However, players that attend all tryouts have a better chance of making the team and being evaluated by the staff.

  • Do I have to pay for each tryout?

    No, there is a one-time tryout fee.  Once a player has paid and registered, they can attend all scheduled tryouts for their age/grade group.

  • What to bring to tryouts?

    Players should bring water and wear basketbal attire.   Players can bring a basketball but they are not required.  Staff will have basketballs for the tryout.

  • What happens at the tryouts?

    Players will first check-in 15-20 minutes before scheduled tryout time to get their tryout  number.  Then players will go though various drills and scrimmages throughout the tryout period.

  • When will we know the tryout results?

    Everyone will know the results of the tryouts within 3 days of the last scheduled tryout.  All registered participants will be emailed.
